Full Description:
FLASH! With little legs pumping and small crowds cheering the annual migration of crawfish were seen plying the waters just north of St. Louis. Traveling in there distinctive 'V-W' formation several thousand churned the waters heading for there ancient nesting bogs near the town of Mazomanie WI.
Mazomanie, long regarded as the center of 'crawfish mania' has traditionally marked the passing of St. Louis by the crawfish vanguard, the first true indication of eminent spring. Spontanious celebration breaks out all over the town when news reaches them hearlding the event. Mazo resident and longtime crawfish gourmet Linda (last name with held by request) was on the street dancing with other celebrants. With tears streaming down her cheeks she exclaimed, "With all the horrible things going on in the world knowing those little guys are out there swimming there little hearts out,.....well......". She was overcome with emotion at that point and unable to continue but it was obvious that the scores of people around her were equally touched by the same magic generated by the "little legs". The next hurdle for these small but courageous crustaceans is the treacherous confluence of the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers. Stay tuned.
